Neurofeedback Therapy: Healing at the Nervous System Level
Accelerate your healing journey with brain training technology combined with liberation-based therapeutic support.
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a gentle, non-invasive way to train your brain to regulate itself more effectively. Using real-time feedback about your brainwave activity, neurofeedback helps your nervous system learn new, healthier patterns.
Think of it like physical therapy for your brain. Just as you might work with a physical therapist to strengthen muscles and improve movement, neurofeedback helps your brain develop better self-regulation skills.
During a session:
You wear a comfortable headset that monitors your brainwaves
You watch a movie, listen to music, or play a simple game
When your brain produces optimal patterns, you receive positive feedback
Over time, your brain learns to maintain these healthier patterns on its own
You can do this from the comfort of your own home
How Neurofeedback Supports Liberation-Based Healing
Trauma and systemic oppression don't just affect our minds—they live in our bodies and nervous systems. Traditional talk therapy addresses thoughts and emotions, but lasting healing requires working at the nervous system level.
This is where neurofeedback becomes a powerful tool for liberation:
Regulating the Stress Response: Chronic stress from navigating oppressive systems keeps many people in a state of hypervigilance. Neurofeedback helps calm an overactive nervous system, creating space for healing.
Beyond Coping to Transformation: While therapy helps you understand and process experiences, neurofeedback helps your brain establish new baseline patterns. You're not just coping better—you're actually changing how your nervous system responds.
Culturally Responsive Care: I integrate neurofeedback with an understanding of how systemic oppression impacts the nervous system. This isn't just brain training—it's healing work that honors your full experience.
Faster Results: Many clients notice improvements in sleep, anxiety, and emotional regulation within 4-8 sessions, allowing therapy to go deeper, faster.
Who Benefits from Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback can be particularly helpful if you're experiencing:
Trauma & PTSD: Especially complex trauma, childhood trauma, or racial trauma
Anxiety: Racing thoughts, panic attacks, constant worry
Depression: Low mood, lack of motivation, feeling stuck
ADHD & Focus Issues: Difficulty concentrating, scattered thoughts
Sleep Disturbances: Insomnia, nightmares, restless sleep, early awakenings
Feeling Stuck in Therapy: You've made progress, but have hit a plateau
Neurofeedback is also powerful for those who:
Want to address root causes, not just symptoms
Prefer non-medication approaches
Are ready for faster, deeper healing
Want to feel more regulated in daily life

Neurofeedback Maintenance Plan
Continue Your Progress, Maintain Your Gains
After completing 4-6 months of intensive neurofeedback training, many clients want to maintain their progress without the intensity (or cost) of full training. That's where the Maintenance Plan comes in.
What is it?
The Maintenance Plan is designed for clients who have achieved their goals through intensive neurofeedback and want to sustain their nervous system regulation long-term. You'll continue training 1-2 times per week at home—at your own pace—with monthly support from me to ensure your gains last.
What's included:
✓ Continued access to your Myndlift neurofeedback account
✓ Self-directed training 1-2x per week (or as needed)
✓ Monthly 30-minute check-in call with me
✓ Protocol adjustments as your needs change
✓ Priority email and chat support
✓ Annual progress review
Investment: $150/month (no long-term contract required)
Why maintenance matters:
Just like going to the gym, your nervous system benefits from continued practice. Most clients find that 1-2 neurofeedback sessions per week keeps them feeling regulated, grounded, and resilient—especially during stressful periods.
The Maintenance Plan gives you the freedom to train on your own schedule with the peace of mind that expert support is just a message away.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is neurofeedback safe?
Yes. Neurofeedback is non-invasive and has been used safely for over 50 years. You're simply receiving feedback about your brain activity—nothing is being done to your brain.
Is the headset zapping my brain?
No, the headset is only sensing where the electrical activity is happening in your brain, and that data is used to calibrate your brain training program. Your brain is learning how to regulate itself, not being zapped or stimulated in any way.
How long until I see results?
Many people notice improvements in sleep, anxiety, or focus within 4-8 sessions. Deeper changes typically unfold over 3-6 months.
Can I do it at home?
Yes! That's the beauty of Myndlift. You train at home on your own schedule, and we check in regularly to track progress and adjust your protocol.
Is it messy?
The headband is a dry sensor, there is no goop or conductive paste required for it to work. You will have one additional electrode that uses conductive paste placed on one part of your head at a time. There is a small, pea-sized amount of conductive paste used during most training programs, and it can be easily wiped away once you are done.
Does insurance cover it?
Most insurance doesn't cover neurofeedback, but it is HSA/FSA eligible. The one-time equipment cost and monthly fees are typically out-of-pocket.
Do I have to stop my medication?
No. Neurofeedback works alongside any current treatment. Always consult your prescriber before making medication changes.
What if I'm also in therapy with you?
Perfect! The combination is powerful. We integrate neurofeedback insights into our therapy work, and many clients find therapy goes deeper when their nervous system is more regulated.
