On Saturday, August 3rd, from 11am-2pm, Ceremonious NYC will be holding our Reiki for RAICES fundraiser at Little Lola & Tots, located at 503 Dekalb Avenue, in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. We have coordinated six Reiki practitioners, including myself, to be available to give you Reiki for your donations to RAICES. RAICES (raicestexas.org) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families and refugees.
Did you know that in the United States, asylum-seeking individuals are not provided court-appointed council? Every day, immigrant families, including children, are forced to navigate the complex immigration system alone. Legal representation is often the key factor in someone being allowed to remain safely in the U.S. rather than be sent back to the harm they’re seeking refuge from.

RAICES is uniquely positioned to support the needs of immigrants today through their crisis management, legal services, social services, and post-release and resettlement support. RAICES also advocates for key policies and legislation to improve the immigration landscape. They work constantly to ensure equal opportunity for all, no matter what.

This might be an opportune time to try it out while helping others. Reiki is a healing energy therapy that promotes a sense of well-being, an elevation of mood, and an animation of organs and tissues to release physical, spiritual, and mental blockages. If you're out of town or unable to attend during the hours of the fundraiser you can still participate and your donation will go towards sending Distance Reiki to the asylum seekers being held in ICE detention camps.
